I created Rethink Sex Education, Inc. after working as District Lead for Sexual Health Education for 3 years in the Delta School District. In my search for quality, relevant and inclusive sexual health programs, I found very little beyond the physical: unsafe touching, puberty and don’t you dare get pregnant.
There are so many aspects to human sexuality beyond prevention. Rethink Sex Ed’s programs help with the relational, emotional and mental health aspects of growing up, while also covering the essentials.
When I design programs, it is imperative that they be LGBTQ2S+ and disability-inclusive. It’s also important to me that they are fun! Youth learn best when they enjoy what they are doing and all of Rethink’s programs have been kid-tested and kid-approved. I’m super proud of what I have created and I look forward to sharing our programs with your school or organization.

I have known Kristy since I was 13 and I have watched her grow and she has watched me grow. When she told me about starting a company I was very excited about wanting to join Rethink.
Being able to help educate individuals on sex education brings me joy because I didn’t have much of a sex education growing up. I want young people to be able to learn and not be uncomfortable with the thoughts of sex and all things to do with growing up like I was.
I want to be helping young women and men and everything in between feel empowered and not ashamed of who they are!

I was born and raised an East-Coaster and currently live in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I grew up as a die-hard theatre kid and eventually went on to study musical theatre in Toronto. During my years away at university, I realized how inadequate my sex education had been, particularly when it came to consent. Through speaking with my peers, I discovered that the lack of comprehensive sex education wasn’t just a problem in rural towns, it was a problem all across Canada. This led to me pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Sexual Health through the University of Alberta, in hopes that I’d be able to give students the information and resources that I never had.
My favourite part about working with Rethink is getting to meet with youth all across Canada and connecting with them through important conversations about consent, relationships and sexual health. Helping to build a consent culture is something that I feel very strongly about and I’m thrilled to be able to help Kristy and the team at Rethink make it happen.
